Conservatory Solar Reflective Film

Conservatory Reflective Film

Window Tint Film
There are numerous different types of this material from as many different sources all of which make claims of differing levels of solar filtering & retention. We are in no doubt that in the right conditions this product will live up to the hype.

What we're not sure about is it's use within a conservatory, on paper it should be the perfect fit, lots of glass = lots of heat to reflect, so why not?

Well, on the conservatory we evaluated the product had been properly & professionally applied to the roof but the owner had not noticed any reduction in heat build up throughout the day, quite the opposite in fact, they felt it retained the heat and made it warmer!

The only conclusion we could arrive at is the fact the film had not been applied to the side windows which were contributing significantly to the heat build up, the problem is the owner didn't want their side windows tinted which in turn would reduce their enjoyment of the view.

Fair enough, what we would say is used in conjunction with blinds this product could help reduce heat build up, but from our findings, and unless you want to cover every window in it it would be best combined with another method such as roof blinds.
